Primo de Rivera Park

Primo de Rivera Park

It is the biggest park in the town and the green lung of the same.

It was inaugurated in 1929 by Miguel Primo de Rivera, who inspires its name; although it is popularly known as Parque Grande (Big Park).

The entrance to the park is located in the Avenida de San Sebastián and is decorated with ornamental fountains and gardens inspired in the Versailles ones.

This green area of great avenues, with luminous fountains and beautiful gardens with sculptures, houses a wide range of different spaces such as the Avenida de San Sebástian, decorated with consecutive ornamental fountains; the Botanic Garden; the Ethnological museum and Goya´ s corner, where you can find works by this famous artist.

The monument to the king Alfonso I, El Batallador, who conquered Zaragoza in 1118, occupies a privileged place inside the park.

It is a 6 and a half meters height sculpture, carried out by José Bueno and that was sculpted with marble from Carrara.
