Las Islas Canarias están ubicadas frente a la costa norte de África y bañadas por el océano Atlántico.

Esta comunidad autónoma insular está integrada por siete islas mayores: Tenerife, Fuerteventura, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote, La Palma, Gomera y Hierro; y por otras menores, entre las que figuran Graciosa, Alegranza y Lobos.
