Lugo

Lugo erinnert jedes Jahr an seine römischen Ursprünge mit dem Fest Arde Lucus. Aus dieser Epoche bewahrt die Stadt zahlreiche Überreste, darunter die als UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe erklärten Stadtmauern. Innerhalb der von diesen begrenzten Altstadt kann man die Kathedrale oder das Provinzmuseum besuchen, das sich in der Kirche und dem Kloster der Franziskaner befindet. Weitere Sehenswürdigkeiten in Lugo sind beispielsweise die Kapelle San Roque oder die Domus del Mitreo, die Reste eines luxuriösen römischen Hauses. Die lucensische Gastronomie ist möglicherweise die beste in Galicien.
