The Balearic Islands are one of the most paradisiacal enclaves of the Mediterranean Sea. The archipelago consists of the islands of Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, Formentera, and Cabrera, a national park. Its excellent temperatures, warm in winter and moderate in summer thanks to the sea's influence, make these islands one of the top tourist destinations in Spain.
Mallorca was inhabited by indigenous people, Romans, and Arabs; it also served as a pirate refuge. In the old town of its capital, Palma, you can visit places like the Cathedral of Santa Maria, the Royal Palace of Almudaina, the Lonja, or the Bellver Castle. In the island's interior is the Tramontana Mountain Range, with beautiful villages like Valdemossa, where its picturesque old town stands out with its Charterhouse featuring a green-tiled bell tower. From Cape Formentor, you can enjoy a wonderful sunset. Caló des Moro, Cala Varqués, the beach of Es Trenc, Formentor or Cala Mondragó are some of its beaches and coves with warm, turquoise waters, perfect for enjoying the sun and sea.
Menorca, the second largest island in the archipelago after Mallorca. In the historical centre of Mahón, its capital, you can find places like Plaza de España, Santa Maria Church, Sa Sala, and a great number of museums. The island also has a significant prehistoric funeral heritage of navetas and talayots. The natural environment around Mahón consists of places like S'Albufera des Grau, a biosphere reserve. Ciudadela is the second largest town on the island. There you will find the Cathedral of Menorca, built over an old mosque and of great architectural beauty. Among the fantastic coves of Menorca are Macarella, Mitjana, and Turqueta.
Ibiza is one of the two Pitiusic Islands along with Formentera. It is the perfect place for parties and fun: each year, the best international DJs gather in Ibiza, and its famous clubs like Pacha and Ushuaia are world-renowned. The district of Dalt Vila, declared a World Heritage Site, is one of the most beautiful places on the island. It is a large fortified area whose winding streets lead to the Ibiza Cathedral and places like the Church and Convent of Santo Domingo. Some of its most famous and beautiful coves include Cala Comte or Cala Saladeta. In Ibiza, you can also visit archaeological remains such as the Puig des Molins necropolis.
Formentera is only half an hour by ferry from its neighbour Ibiza. It is a small island of extraordinary natural beauty and a perfect place to rest and relax. Its beaches and coves are considered some of the best in the world. Ses Illetes or Cala Saona are the most famous. The first is located in the Ses Salines Natural Park, a space protected for its rich ecosystem.
Cabrera, part of the island of Mallorca. It features the best-preserved coastal landscape in the country and thus holds the distinction of a national park.
The gastronomy of the Balearic Islands is based on the Mediterranean diet and has links with Catalan cuisine. It is a very varied gastronomy, with its most famous dishes being lobster stew, roast meat, mayonnaise sauce, or sweets like Mallorcan ensaimadas. The tumbet or the Mahón cheeses are also other delicacies to enjoy during our visit to the Balearic Islands.

Palma boasts some of the best coves in Spain. Additionally, its monumental heritage is significant, showcasing the various inhabitants that the island of Mallorca has had and the different historical periods it has gone through. Thus, in Palma, we can visit places like La Almudaina, Bellver Castle, or the Cathedral of Santa Maria of Palma. It's possible to enjoy the nightlife and the gastronomy of the Balearic capital in some of the restaurants located in the trendy area: the Santa Catalina neighbourhood.
