Sabiote

Located in the region of La Loma, Sabiote is a municipality in Jaén notable for its art, forming the "Renaissance triangle" alongside Úbeda and Baeza.

Without a doubt, Sabiote is a hub of artistic and heritage significance on a national level. It is part of the Andrés de Vandelvira Renaissance Route, along with Úbeda, Baeza, Canena, and Villacarrillo. A tourism project that aims to highlight the mainly Renaissance heritage of these places.

The Sabiote Castle stands out as the major icon of the municipality. An interesting monument to understand the Andalusian Renaissance Triangle, together with Úbeda and Baeza. It was built facing the Guadalimar valley, with vestiges dating back to before the 13th century. However, the construction we can see today dates from the 16th century, being the oldest example of a Renaissance bastion-castle.

Apart from the fortress, other noteworthy heritage elements should be highlighted. The Parish Church of San Pedro, the Carmelite Convent of the Barefoot Carmelites, and the Hermitage of San Ginés de la Jara must be mentioned.
