The parish church of Nuestra Señora del Collado can still be seen standing in Segura de la Sierra, despite having suffered several misfortunes. It was built in the 16th century over a previous temple, which most likely existed, due to the capital status of the Commandery of the Order of Santiago. It was set on fire in 1810 by Napoleon's troops during their retreat, and was rebuilt by Infante Francisco de Paula Antonio five years later. Then, during the Spanish Civil War, it was also set on fire (1936).
Its layout is a single rectangular nave covered by a vault. Its exterior appearance is sober, with stone masonry walls. Notable features include its square-section tower ending in an octagonal pyramid, with a cross on top. Also, its polygonal apse. It has two doorways with access through a semicircular arch. The main one is a clear example of a triumphal Renaissance doorway, framed in double Corinthian pilasters on a pedestal. The rear doorway features in the keystone of the arch, the shield with the Cross of Santiago.
Inside, it has three chapels. The one closest to the gospel has a semicircular arch as access and houses iconographies such as the Holy Burial -attributed to Gregorio Hernández-, or Saint Joseph. A second chapel of similar structure is located on the side of the epistle. The third chapel stands out for preserving a valuable artistic piece, namely the Virgin of the Rock. A small image carved in alabaster, believed to come from the Franciscan Monastery of the Virgin of the Rock, near Orcera (Jaén). Its style is thought to be Gothic, dated to the 14th century, making it one of the oldest sculptures in the province of Jaén.
