Fernando I and the bishop Don Miro ordered to build a church in the first years of the XI Century. There is where the actual church of San Miguel was built in the XIII century.
Its original tower from early gothic and used both for military and religious purposes, has been restaured just by removing the reinforcements built to correct the damages caused by the earthquake of Lisbon in 1755.
Inside if you can find a Jesuschrist from the XV century just in the middle of the altar. A few years ago some old gothic paintings have been discovered in its walls. It was considered as a National Monument in 1931.
