A sort of military fortress located next to the Tajo River and built in order to defend the Alcántara Bridge.
It was originally built as a monastery and was ordered by Alfonso VI in 1088 in honour of the Saints Servando and Germano.

The windows of the machicolations of the tower are built with brick and have a polilobed shape. The main door, toward the town, is opened in a sort of Albarran tower.
Nowadays it is totally restored and works as youth hostel.
