Monforte Gardens

It represents the only example of Historic gardens that have survived in Valencia. It has its origins in one of the orchards existing outside the town of Valencia.

It is divided into two areas: The Parterre Viejo (Old Garden) a geometrical area of hedges lopped in French style, and the Parterre Nuevo (New Garden), in Romantic Style with lush high trees.

Within its vegetation, we should highlight the bushes, the lush high trees, a Rose garden and a rambler gallery. They are plenty of statues, fountains and ponds. The environment also houses numerous sculpture groups among which we should highlight the couple of lions sculpted with stone from Colmenar by José Bellver.

Built: XIX Century (1860- 1870)

Author: Sebastián Monleón
