This museum is set in a Baroque building, and is also known as San Pio V Museum because of the building which houses it. Its collection comprises works of primitive Valencian painters, artists such as Jacomart, Miqul Alcanyís, Pere Nicolau.
The XVI Century is represented by Paolo de San Leocadio, Yáñez de la Almedina, Vicente Macip and Juan de Joanes.
The XVII and XVIII Centuries are represented by the rich Baroque school of Valencia, with works of Francisco and Juan Ribalta, Espinosa, Ribera, as well as by world known artists such as El Greco, Velázquez, Alonso Cano, Murillo, Valdés Leal, Goya and López. It also conserves valuable archaeological remains, such as “The Lion of Bocairent” or the Paleo- Christian sarcophagus of St. Vicente Mártir.
Mariano Benlliure´ s group of creations should be highlighted.
