Quart Towers

It is a military construction from the Late Gothic. They were conceived as fortified towers of the town and were part of the medieval wall that surrounded the old part of the town of Valencia. They have a cylindrical floor towards the exterior and levelled towards the wall interior.

They were built with masonry and are hardly decorated.

Between the two towers there is an entrance and exit door to the town with a round arch surrounded by ashlar, which housed the custodian angel and now houses the coat of arms of the town. During some time they were used as a women´ s jail. Nowadays it is the head office of the Colección Museográfica de Cerrajería (Locksmith Museum).

Built: XV Century

Author: Francesc Baldomar, Pere Compte

Style: Gothic

Category: Civil

Type: Military Watchtower
