Iberian Museum of Jaén

The Iberian Museum of Jaén was born in 2017 after eleven years as a project. It is the response to the demand of a significant part of the people of Jaén and other cultural institutions and associations to create an exclusive space for the Iberian culture. A unique space in the world dedicated to disseminating what the Iberian people were, their culture and identity elements.

The entity aims to house all those Iberian vestiges that have appeared in the province of Jaén. A territory that has stood out precisely for being inhabited by these peoples with similar culture in ancient times. Beyond this objective, it is also intended to be a reference and study centre with remains from throughout Andalusia, beyond the provincial scope.

Today, most of its collection comes from sites such as Puente Tablas (Jaén), Cerrillo Blanco (Porcuna), Cástulo (Linares), Torreparedones (Baena) and various points in Almería, Seville or Granada.

It is a representative space of the Journey to the Time of the Iberians project, developed by the Diputación de Jaén and other institutions. Essentially, it is a plan that seeks to value Iberian sites in the province and various reference spaces related to this culture.
