Lugo Provincial Museum

From the year 1957 the museum has been housed in the halls of the old Convento f San Francisco (cloister, kitchen, and refectory).

Completed with newly-built sections. With a wide variety of Holy Art, traditional Galician cooking utensils, a superb collection of pre-Roman silver and gold artefacts, with particular attention to the “Torques de Burela”, collections of sun-dials, heraldry, and so on, and the best-known ceramics from Galicia and Lugo: Sargadelos.

There are theme-based sections on the pre-history and archaeology of Lugo, fine arts ethnography and sumptuary arts. Temproary exhibition hall.
