The province of Teruel is located in the south of Aragón, and its capital, a city with the same name, boasts a rich Mudéjar artistic heritage.
The Cathedral of Santa María de Mediavilla, originally Romanesque, was expanded centuries later and then acquired the Mudéjar elements that characterise it. Its tower, ceiling, and dome are World Heritage, as are the towers of the Church of Salvador, the Tower of San Martín and the Church of San Pedro, whose bell tower is the oldest example of Mudéjar style in Teruel. In a chapel of the Church of San Pedro lie the remains of the «Lovers of Teruel», two young lovers from Teruel who, according to legend, died in an illogical manner.
Moreover, in the centre of the city of Teruel, is the Plaza del Torico, famous for the statue that presides over it: a bull on a pedestal representing part of the legend about the city's origins. Also, the square houses the Casa del Torico, a modernist building constructed in 1912 with a very striking facade. Also located here is a unique fountain whose spout is a small bull's head, hence it is known as the Fuente del Torico. On the other hand, relating to water, one can also admire in the city the aqueduct erected in the 16th century known as Los Arcos.
Albarracín, Valderrobres or Puertomingalvo are towns that retain the medieval essence in their streets and where abundant archaeological sites can be found, as these were places originally settled by the Iberians. The charm of these towns lies in their history and in the beauty of the natural environment they are set in. These towns, alongside many others in Aragón, are part of the Network of the Most Beautiful Villages in Spain.
Moreover, in the province of Teruel, you can visit the Pinares de Rodeno Natural Park, a space rich in flora and fauna diversity where many protected species can be found. Different Levantine rock paintings can also be seen in the park.
Another major tourist attraction in Teruel is Dinopolis, a theme park dedicated to dinosaurs that has several locations in the province, all in places where palaeontological finds have been made.
Turolense gastronomy features dishes such as shepherd's gazpacho served with «sollapas», unleavened bread cakes; or the biscuits known as «suspiros de amante».

In the vicinity of the banks of the rivers Guadalaviar and Alfambra lies the city of Teruel. Capital of the namesake province, the city stands out for its historic centre, among other things.
