As a Unique Scientific and Technical Infrastructure, it features world-class facilities that are made available to the national and international scientific and technological community.
To share the knowledge and technology developed by the Almería Solar Platform over more than 30 years of research, we offer visitors a guided tour of its facilities. Throughout the visit, you will learn about the different technologies that make up this research centre, dedicated primarily to Concentrated Solar Thermal Energy.
To help visitors better understand the scientific processes carried out at the PSA, outdoor demonstrations are held outside the Visitor Centre (weather permitting). These may include the parabolic trough demonstrator (DISS), the solar detoxification system, the solar cooker, and the wind turbine.
Inside the Visitor Centre, visitors can see two scale models of the CESA-1 high-temperature facility and its Central Receiver. The centre also features informative displays on the history of solar energy and the cutting-edge research currently being carried out at the PSA.
At the end of the guided tour, visitors enter the Visitor Centre auditorium to watch a 10-minute audiovisual presentation summarising the PSA's main research areas.
