Museo Nacional del Prado

The Prado Museum is considered as one of the most important art galleries in the world.


It has the major Spanish painting collection from the XI and XII Centuries, and most of the greatest painters´ masterpieces such as Velázquez, Goya, El Greco, Tiziano, El Bosco, Rubens.


In total there are approximately more than 9,000 works of art, mainly paintings, and only 1,500 of these paintings are exposed to the public.

  • Monday to saturday: From 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • Sundays and Public Holidays: from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
  • 24 and 31 December and 6 January: From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
  • The museum is closed: 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.

  • General entrance ticket: 16 €.
  • Reduced price entry: 8 €.

    • Monday-Saturday: 6 - 8 pm;
    • Unemployed persons, disabled persons, staff of state museums belonging to the Ministry of Culture, official tourist guides, journalist, teaching staff, ICOM members (International Council of Museums) and associations, large families, students aged between 18 and 25, under 18s, and on 19 November and 18 May.
